    Hi Frank.

Many thanks for the email. Glad your working life was good at BSR! I have always had a soft spot for the products and amazed how the equipment was sold globally.
Now…I have run out of the toggle springs used in the TD1 and 2 tape decks and some turntables. So, if you have 100 or so under the bed, ill make you an offer!

No tengo transformador. Puede ser posible rebobinarlo o reemplazarlo con un transformador similar al utilizado en Fender. Hágamelo saber. Verificaría la razón por la que falló.

    Hi

Yes, always make a couple of small mods to make them sound a little less BBC Home Service. I reduce the value of the the caps C17 and C19. This makes the set sound quite HiFi, whilst retaining the natural warm sound. Let me know if you need a diagram.

    Hi John.
Thanks for your kind comments and taking the time to post.
Well, of course I agree with you 100%. It really pisses me off when I see equipment on fleabay saying without valves. The idea is to keep the equipment running in good order for the next generations. I wont be able to take it with me. Luckily, I am not hard up enough to sell off a couple of PX4s to stay alive! This gram outplays most of the sets from this period. It sounds very HiFi. Playing LPs that were recorded in the early 50s, Dance bands etc the sound is first class. Plus a new magic eye tuning indicator. What more could you want?
Nice to have your post on my site.
    Take care. Seth

Hi. These sets suffer badly with dry solder joints. The fault you have is within the IF stage, as you have no video and sound. I suggest you tap around the main PCB and check connections from the tuner. Not knowing your skill level, press the main board and surrounding areas with a plastic rod and see if you can bring the fault condition off and on. You can then narrow the area.

Ciao.
