Old Sony STR 333L

This 1970s tuner amp came in Sony STR333L. Owner wanted it brought back to life. Had a twiddle with the tuner knob (amplifier’s not the owner) and realised that the dial cord was broken. God I hate that! Anyway, sorted and found that it has a rather strange preset tuning system, little coloured pegs that can be set around the dial. A sort of resistive network. Clever but a pain to repair. Amazing how these older sets have great sensitive tuners Sounded good. Bit odd.. phono input and tape. No aux or whatever. And, lots of preset tuner spaces for Long wave?? No medium wave settings. Guess this model was for the Far East market?

Hello, I just got one second hand and I wonder, if there is a light for the main display. I found just one picture in the www with blue light.
    Greetings from Vienna!
