Customer donated this little set. PYE P93W. Cosmetically nice condition, so wanting a rest from LCD TVs, I thought I would have a play. AC-DC set, usual “U” range of Mullard valves line up. Powered up carefully, heaters on, no HT. HT fuse had been replaced with 13A! UL41 and UY41 looked tired. Open circuit HT dropper, replaced along with all Hunts and TCC caps. Main smoothing capacitors recovered nicely after a while at low voltage. 2 foot of antenna wire in the shop and set picked up all sorts, loud and good. 9 wave bands, Long Wave, Medium Wave with bandspread and various short Waves. Very selective and sensitive. Dinky little set.
