I was fortunate to make friends with a Dance Band Leader, Ken Mackintosh. He resurrected my love for playing the Alto Sax. He showed me how to play properly and then allowed me to play lead Alto in his dance band. This tape machine was his. He part exchanged it for a couple of big band arrangements in the 1950s. He gave it to me, making me promise I would not get rid of it. As if I would! I fully restored it. Great machine, even came with a tape of his recording with the “Gag Crackers Ball” dating to the early 1970s.
